Looking for suggestions to be honest! My wife has us looking a Bar Harbor Area, and then Crescent Beach?

Luxury and Maine don't really go together. Well, let's just say that luxury in Maine has a different meaning than other areas

I've spent my summers in Maine for 25 years. Let me know whatever specific questions you may have.
My parents have a home in Camden. It's fun for about 6 hours and then you've done everything.
If you're young I would suggest Portland. It's a young artsy city with tons to do. You can drive an hour and spend an afternoon at LL Bean too.
Kittery is also good for a day. The Kittery Trading Post is awesome if you're "outdoorsy".

not really sure about hotels since we usually rent a house, but Arrows Restaurant : Ogunquit, Maine is the best dining in maine that i'm aware of.

My family has been going to Kennebunkport for the past 20 years and my aunt and uncle finally decided to build a place up there and retire. Of course I'm biased, but I think it's the best small vacation town in Maine.
As far as hotels, you can't go wrong with White Barn (also has a killer restaurant), The Breakwater Inn & Spa, the Nonantum Resort, and the Colony. The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.- Churchill
