Default Planning on going to the UAE

    Hey guys!

So since I've got 2 jobs now and have extra income etc. Im going to pick up a D7000 on the end of next month and the Nikkor 70-200mm VRII the next month after that again. Im planning on going to the UAE to celebrate this new year and I got some questions for you. (going down at new year of course lol)

Im thinking of stopping by in Dubai to pay the Burj Al Arab hotel a visit (I hope I spelled it right) and take a look at some other beautiful stuff over there. Also Im planning on doing the Audi R8 V10 experience event at the Dubai race track. Then again I want to go to Abu Dhabi while Im down there, I know its around 150km from Dubai to Abu Dhabi if Im not wrong.

The questions are: do you guys have any suggestions on what to pick down there? Would you rather go to Abu Dhabi or Dubai? How is it with the public transport between these 2 cities? Which cities have the most best things to take pictures of with my camera? Any suggestions? Also do I need to get a tourist visum to go down there, or can I just book a flight and fly away? Im planning this vacation to be around 9-10 days, maximum 14. Im planning on testing my camera down there pretty good.. also, is there anything that I should watch out for when going down there?

    So, any suggestions, tips? anything?

I think it's definitely worth going to both cities, but I'd spend most of my time in Dubai. I felt like there were more crazy things to see there and a better night life. Abu Dhabi does have a freakin' amazing mosque (can't remember the name, but it's the largest one around).

Definitely go to the Burj Al-arab, if you can finagle a way to get on a boat tour through the Palms, I'd definitely do that, but I'm not sure if I got to do that b/c we had a hook-up of some sort.

I also had a great time doing some desert dune driving. They have both tours where they drive or ones where you do it yourself. Honestly, they're both fun.

Oh, and of course, you literally can't miss the Burj Dubai because it sticks so far into the sky that it looks fake.

The indoor ski/snowboarding concept is cool, I guess, but a waste of money. I knew it was going to be a waste before i went, but hey.... when in Dubai....
