    Default next surf spot

so I just got back from a 10 day costa rica vacation and we are already planning on making it a yearly deal - different spots every year

what is the next location, and what do you know about it, price, time to go, etc. Fill me in! I am up for anywhere that has surf and is tropical. Staying on a cheaper budget, nothing super fancy (but not hostels).

    Indo
    Fuji
    Aus
    Mex
    Europe
    ????

Dont say hawaii, I do that one twice a year almost.

I AM WITH YOU MAN! I travel for surfing all the time, it's a big thing for me

IDK what your skill level is...but my next trip is definitely going to be to Tahiti to hit up Teahupoo

Fiji is incredible if you go to Tavarua or Namotu - but you have to go to a special surf camp and stay with them as they basically run the islands, so it's not resort living. But Cloudbreak and Restaurants is unbeatable.

Obviously boat trips through Indonesia - I plan on hitting up Uluwatu and Rovercam in Bali very soon.

Micronesia is great too, getting there is hard, but a lot of empty tubes

I also want to get down to OZ and hit up the Gold Coast.

Don't know too much about Europe other than Hossegor. The North Atlantic is kinda sleepy. Apparently Ireland also has some incredible waves...cold, but check this out New wave 'discovered' - Ireland/Europe's biggest Wave?

yeah, I bodyboard (air tricks and all that). My friends both sponge and stand up.

I realized I work way too much and dont really enjoy my life so much. Its a daily routine anymore....wake up, shower, work, come home, shower, sleep, repeat. 12-14 hour days blow! I just put in 15 hours today between detailing and my other job! It will be the same tomorrow!

So I am thinking about this new game plan...work my ass off for 6 weeks, take a week off, at the 6 month mark, take two weeks and head out somewhere to get away and forget about work! I think it will be good!

I'm with you man! I've been so busy these past few years haven't gotten the chance to really enjoy life and traveling. That's gunna change!

I think it will be great for your mental health! We have one life to live that is so short, why not enjoy it to the fullest?

i've surfed and sponged in Aus, NZ, and Fiji. Fiji is dirt cheap if you can swing the airfare and don't mind coral reef breaks. Plus it has great swell nearly year round. If the coral sketches you out Aus hits hard at various times but the crowds are big and locals can be dicks. Very aggressive locals. Lots of spongers which is cool. NZ was great. Locals can be a little aggro at times but mostly nice people and usually small crowds. You may very well have a lot of you time at some breaks. PM about spots iin NZ if you head there i know a few hidden gems

^^ oh and I have to disagree with jibaholic.

There are a ton of places to stay in Fiji that are not surf camps where you can still surf the good breaks. I stayed at very cheap place with some friends while in college and they had daily boats out to cloudbreak if it was on. There are a lot of ways to surf the right waves w/out spending dough on the expensive camps.

I am going to make a slideshow video of trip once I get the other set of pictures from my friend.

Been to australia a couple of times, but there wasnt any surf 1-2ft = I didnt even paddle around!

Bali/indo is on the radar for next year according to my friend. "better start saving up for INDO". Ill definitely hit you up when the time comes!

I just talked to a girl friend of mine, she might be moving out to hawaii in the fall...cheap place to stay for me! good thing she surfs too!
