I've been to Ponce...which is the southern part of the island. Beautiful mountains and a nice beach. Food was good, when you find authentic. When I go again I plan on staying in the San Juan area. I hear thats nicer.

El Yunque was pretty sweet to hike around, just be ready to sweat as the humidity is 100% within the rainforest ecosystem.
Old San Juan and the fort had some incredible photo spots and vistas; however, I didn't really care for San Juan as a city itself, we thought it was rather dirty and didnt offer much beyond a regular city.
I loved Vieques and Culebra - take the ferry there if you have a chance and see the incredible beaches there.
My personal favorite beaches were towards the west coat near Isabela and Aguadilla - there was an incredible beach for snorkeling near Isabela, I think it was called "Shacks" beach, but we loved it.
And stock up on rum while there - there are a ton of brands to choose from and it's insanely cheap compared to the US.Last edited by GoHokiesGo; 05-06-2011 at 06:03 PM.

been there a few times. it's one incredible place that combines amazing venues, sightseeing, nature and awesome hospitality.
rent a car when you are there. drive to the ocean spot on the south side to checkout the glowing sea water.
