Il be going to Puerto Vallarta this summer with my friends and family and i was just hoping anyone could give me some feedback about it. From their own experiences or etc.
People always say never to leave the resorts in Mexico would this be one of the places not to leave? lol. and yeah hopefully someone can help me out!

I've been to PV 3 times, last time being July of 10, and I've never had a problem. You just have to be aware of your surroundings as I would say is true with a lot of places (both domestic and foreign).
My parents just got back on Saturday from 10 days in PV, they didn't have any problems.
I'd recommend dinner at Hacienda San Angel (Hacienda San Angel - Puerto Vallarta hotel, Puerto Vallarta boutique hotel, Puerto Vallarta Bed and Breakfast) and Daiquiri Dicks (ddpv). The Casanova coffee's at Daiquiri Dicks are awesome.

I've been there a handful of times and every time i've gone there hasnt been a single problem. Like said above just be aware of your surroundings and don't get into anything illegal ie drugs etc. One of my friends went there when he was 19 or so and got caught urinating in public. Short story is he had to bribe the federali with money to get out of it.

it's different now for sure but when i went 10 years ago, i walked around everywhere at night w/ no issues. but Mexico is a very different place right now - the city itself should be plenty safe though.

There are bad people everywhere, BUT I am avoiding going to Mexico until they straighten things out over there. I just think there are other places to go...but I will say I love PV and most other places down there. Wish they could figure out how to control all the violence, but don't see it in the near future.
Odds are you will have fun and won't experience anything but a great vacation!

July is when I went last year as well. It is really hot that time of the year. We had a little rain and some pretty awesome thunderstorms at night during that time of the year.
If you want to get out of town for a day, take a tax (or the bus)i north to Sayulitas. It's a cool little town about an hour north. You can surf there, and the ocean is actually clean enough to swim in.
