    As for the tax-free part... you do realize as a US Citizen, you have to pay tax regardless of where you live in the world, right?

    It may not matter if you're never planning to come back, but if you are, the IRS can figure out if you haven't been filing. Yes, it's easier to hide your income, but it's not legitimately "tax-free".

    may be headed out there this summer regardless for a few months. Already would have a job and home secured as well as transportation. I think it would be fun for a few months to experiance a different world and culture. I love traveling and such

    I've been in Qatar for 4 months now, loving it. I'd love to go to the UAE next.

    330 days out of country = tax free, completely legal and legitimate
