Default Back from Vancouver, BC... love this place!

Just go back from Vancouver, Canada and I have to say, it was a nice place to visit! It is my first time there and it compares better than San Francisco for it's cultures and engergy.

There's simply so much to talk about that I'd just waste too much time here. So here's my summary:

At my hotel, Sheraton at Wall Center Plaza: DB9 convert. parked the first day; at night, all black Murci parked up front! Next morning, Orange Gallardo followed by F430 red Spyder both leaving the front parking area. Saturday, another Ferrari, maybe a Modena and later, a DeLorean prowling for a parking spot on Robson St. Lot's of Harleys; due to so many high-rises, I believe the loud cars know to rev it up so the sounds bounce off the buildings! Wife said she was a couple of Bentley's too. This city definitly has some good cars!

People: more diverse that I would have thought; Chinese, Japanese, Phillipino, French Canadian, Middle Eastern and some Mexican. Being the host for next years Winter Olympics, this place is going to sound like "Small World". But the women here are beautiful in all cultures that were represented. Saw one middle eastern woman with legs a mile long and looked sexy as hell, and next you see a family of middle eastern people with the women hiding their faces behind their traditional dresses, but talking and not really noticing the sexy woman passing us. Everyone I saw were dressed very metropolitan. Just a real good mix of people and fashion all in one place ( Robson St. - sort of like Union Square in S.F. or Santana Row). 16 blocks of eye candy and good eats.

Food: only had one good night to dine and we ended up at Joe Forte's; a Seafood & House . I dined on wild Pacific Salmon while the wife had river Sock-eyed Salmon. Both were cooked beautifully as we watched the oyster schucker/waiter continously open up raw oysters and muscles for the patrons. A piano man at a mid-point on the stairs (where it turns) that hangs out near the front entrance can be heard throughout the restaurant's din. Service was somewhat slow but appears this weekend was "prom night" for all of Vancouver as we kept seeing grads all dolled up everywhere we went so I think that's what slowed things down. We did receive extra appetizers for waiting. Our waiter continously made sure our wine glass was filled with the 1/2 bottle of white we bought. Our salmon dinner was excellent - pefectly pink, smoked but not salty, not dry nor tough. We topped it off with a tiramisu dessert; my wife felt it was far better than the one we had at Maggiano's.

Sights: aside from a lot of high-rises, there's no a lot to really see other than Stanley park; we didn't stop much - moslty drove through it but did snap up some photo's; sorry for no car pics but hopefully this will make up for it (56K beware):

Vancouver is probably one of my favourite Canadian cities to visit. There is a great mix of everything there. Scenery, nightlife, sports/ activities, cultures, everything that I'm into. Was vancouver your only stop?

if it weren't so damn close to Seattle, both literally and figuratively I'd have a second home there.

Glad you had a good time and sampled some of the beautiful PacNW.

Never been to Vancouver but we are taking a driving vacation up the coast from San Fran a couple of weeks before the Monterey Historics weekend. It should be a nice drive up. U still heading out this way?

When I was in Richmond (south of Vancouver), I went to one of the many Asian malls. I had found a Camera store there to replace my broken 18-55mm lens on my Nikkon. As I was looking around, I spied this:
