Default Nyon, Switzerland: Last Minute Trip

So it looks like my wife may be traveling for work to Nyon, Switzerland for a week in October. I, of course, would tag along. We would possibly take some time off and go a week early to do the tourist thing.

I know the L4P Family can school me up on the cool stuff to do, see, eat, drink, etc. in this region of the world!!! I have never been to Europe, so I’m pretty stoked about the opportunity!

Thanks in advance for your help...

The Swiss Riviera is one of the most beautiful places that I think I've visited so far, so Nyon would put you basically right there. I spent a few days this past spring in Geneva, Montreux and Lausanne.

Definitely another vote to hop on the train over to Montreux (~45-60 min train ride probably from Nyon/Geneva). The walk along the lake over to Chateau de Chillon is incredible, the views are incredible and it takes about an hour. The castle itself is pretty cool inside, but just the walk along the lake from Montreux to Chillon had amazing views. Make sure to try the Swiss wines as well, the Vaud region is covered with wineries along the hill sides.

If you're looking for a nice and fancy dinner, there is a 2-star Michelin restaurant called Le Pont de Brent located in the village just over Montreux. It's about a 10 minute taxi ride there. The restaurant was formerly a 3-star till the last chef retired, but the new chef is very very good as well. Our meal there was excellent - 4 to 5 courses, some unique French dishes, great cheese course selection, and good service. It is at a michelin-level price point though, so be ready for that.

Here are a few of my photos from there:

You have to go to Interlaken.

You'll thank me later, I promise you.
