    Default Ibiza

Earlier I had posted a thread about where to go in the Mediterranean for vacation, and of course I've settled on Ibiza. I figured a place like this needs a thread of its own .

I am currently looking at Ushuaia, El Hotel, and Ocean Drive as places to stay. However I am still struggling with where to stay. Eivissa, San Antoni, Playa d'en Bossa? Any ideas? As far as clubs go...there is just too many possibilities! Cafe del Mar, Tiesto residency at Pacha, water parties at Es Paradis, foam parties at Amnesia, the list goes on!

Anyone else interested in going to Ibiza? There has to be some members here who have been! Share your experiences!

I went to Ibiza for my 30th birthday and had a blast. Sant Antoni de Portmany feels similar to New Orleans but with the obvious Spanish flare. It's the party city to be in if you travel to Ibiza. The clubs are easily accessible via cab and run 24x7. Eivissa is also a key party area filled with clubs and beach side resorts and bars.

Car Rental: Rental cars are available through local merchants for cheap. I think I paid less than $200 for 8 days rental of a small compact car. You will pay a premium for an automatic vs. manual car.

Beaches to visit: Just a disclaimer the ocean is crisp and cool, don't expect warm water.

The island is literally a mixing pot of Europe. Certain areas are focused on catering to UK tourists while others are more focused on Germans. You'll notice this based on the bars and the obvious flags etc.

It's three years since I was last there. We stayed in a villa near Cala d'Or.

Just stay away from San Antonio unless you want to be hoards of morons getting as pissed as possible as cheaply as possible before getting as fucked up as possible.

Stay in Ibiza town if you don't want to be on a beach, but want to be near to some decent bars and restaurants. Otherwise stay in Playa den Bossa. But there will be masses of British/European package holidaymakers there as well.

If you want to hang with the flash set during the day head for Salinas Beach. You don't have to be flash, but plenty are.

If you really want to be flash, charter a boat and head for Formentera.

Definitely hire a car and see the rest of the island wherever you end up staying. It is a beautiful island, there are some amazing hotels and some fantastic restaurants and it is not all about moronic brits 'aving it large, or flash Eurotrash splashing the cash. It is what you make it.

I leave for Ibiza on Wednesday... and I definitely recommend going before 25, Michael, this will be my second time!

I'll be staying at the Ibiza Gran hotel across from Pacha one night and the rest of the time in San Antonio at Hotel del Mar.

I'm planning the following: Erick Morillo @ Pacha, Be @ Space, Markus Schulz @ Privilege, Mondo Loco @ Eden, hed kandi @ Es Paradis

I've been to the water parties at Es Paradis. They are great, just don't leave before sunrise. I also saw Tiesto while he was still playing at Privilege, which was fantastic. This will be my first time to the clubs in Eivissa (Pacha and Space) which I am really looking forward to.

Being a Mediterranean island, the food and atmosphere are great. If going to Ibiza even crosses your mind, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it. I don't know anyone that has been that has ever said anything negative about their experience there.

I'm not that hard of a partier... I'm even too cheap to get very drunk in Ibiza. I paid 17 euro for a RedBull/Vodka there once... it is possible to enjoy yourself there without getting pissed or stoned out of your mind.

It was a fantastic trip! The weather was still very mild... I didn't even try to get in the water. I hit up 5 opening parties while I was there, which was incredible! The later you stay at the parties, the better they get. I think I saw more sunrises in my 4 days in Ibiza than I have in a year. The women were, of course, lovely.

I was much more impressed with the talent and production that went on this year... amazing dancers, light shows, and pyrotechnics etc. in addition to the live singers, percussion, and other instruments that often complimented the DJs.

The last pic looks like Pacha?

I went two years ago and had a blast. Stayed in Cala Llonga. Anywhere you stay is fine, cabs always get you to clubs in like 20 minutes for about 20 euros. If you have 3 other people with you then even cheaper.

I recommend going to Amnesia. Biggest club in the world from what I remember. Really insane. People blow coke on the floor. Also Pacha is fun but gets super crowded. Went there for David Guetta and it was super tight inside. They should have let 1/2 of people that were there.

As far as tourism, definitely check out Eivissa, the old town looks really nice.

Oh and side note, just like the popular saying there: IBIZA IS A FUCKING EXPENSIVE ISLAND
