As others are eluding to, it's not just about the performance numbers or the cost of a Veyron that puts it in a class unto itself... it is both those things combined in the fashion by which it does it that makes the car soo legendary and very difficult to compare to. It is also very true that to top all that off, the build quality is exactly what you would expect from an automobile that cost north of a million dollars.
There has always been a generally accepted rule of thumb in motorsports and performance car circles that has extreme performance on one side and luxury on the other. You add to one and it generally takes away from the other. The Veyron is an engineering accomplishment that completely blows that theory out of the water and basically says, "You can have your cake AND eat it too." There is no other car on the planet that can uphold that statement, to the degree a Veyron does. It is the best of everything rolled into one.
The cars that people attempt to compare it to, only exist in those types of conversations because they are the next closest thing, but in no way does that put them in the same category. They are there by default, not because they are true comparisons to the Veyron.Last edited by Race Minded; 09-04-2012 at 01:32 PM.

... any article that can be quoted with "puts the Bugatti to shame" just does not hold water.
The Venom GT may not be trash - but take it as it is - a tuner car, not a production monster.

Comparing kit cars to a Veyron? Great work...
Agera R, Aventador (UGR) or something like that, sure.

You can compare many cars to the veyron in a specific category. If you want to compare its ride quality, speed or craftsmanship there are many cars that may rival it. It's when you lump all of these things together that I don't believe any car out there can measure up.

I have driven almost everything. In my opinion, there is truly nothing like the Bugatti Veyron, the SS is the absolute benchmark for Hypercars of modern time today in almost every regards.
