    Default Saddest sports story ever

I was so saddened by the death of the young man, father, and baseball fan that passed away after a fall at the Rangers' game this week. I feels so awful for his family, especially his son who accompanied him. Everything about this is so tragic. RIP.

I don't. It's a direct reminder of the very thing that resulted in the unfortunate death of his father.

The Rangers need to raise the height of the railing AND put in safety netting below.

That is sad, but I kinda agree about the ball. Not sure if I would want the direct reason for a fathers death around, especially if I was the mother. Of course, that could go both ways. The son could see that as a reminder of what his father would do for him and what love was shown for him. Certainly more than a lot of dead beat dads out there.

I just took my dad to a MLB game last week. We do it every year as a fathers day present. It's sad that the son won't be able to enjoy more games with his dad because they only get better as you grow.

That kid will probably need therapy for a very long time, and that's just very sad.

The guy died attempting to get a ball for his kid. Anyone knows at that age, receiving a ball from the field is a goal of going to a ball game, this is why young kids always bring a glove regardless of where their seat is. In my opinion, it would not be a reminder of his dad's death, rather, something to remember him by.

I am sure Nolan Ryan and the Ranger players will take care of the boy. I would not be surprised if he grew up playing baseball.

Sure the story is sad, I feel bad though for Hamilton, the guy that threw the ball in to the stands.. Anyone that knows his story knows he has gone thru some pretty hard times in his life, I bet this will be a tough one to get over.

well said, such a sad story to come from just an every game ordeal. you never really think about the dangers of being at a ballpark, but sadly things like this occur. condolences to the man's family.
