L4P MMA Thread
Instead of starting new threads for each event and general discussion, I figure we can just post under one thread.
THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER SEASON 13
A little bit slow - but I'm enjoying it. JDS is quite likable and Brock is Brock. Hopefully it will pick up pace soon.

STRIKEFORCE: DIAZ VS DALEY

Main event should a barn burner for sure. A great card lined up.
Welterweight Championship bout: Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley
Lightweight Championship bout: Gilbert Melendez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
Light Heavyweight bout: Gegard Mousasi vs. Keith Jardine
Lightweight bout: Shinya Aoki vs. Lyle Beerbohm
Jardine took the fight w/ Mousasi in one week's notice. Fvcking balls of steel. Hopefully, it'll be an entertaining and competitive fight.Love & Fortune favor(s) The One.

Yeah very disappointed with TUF so far. Fights have been lackluster, but that's because Dos Santos has been pitting his best against Lesnar's worst. We'll see what Lesnar has up his sleeve next week.
It blows me away that people can take the road to be on this show, get on it, be on a team, and then leave because they miss their daughter. Now I understand family is important, but give me a break.

Diaz will be hard to beat. He has a good game that is well rounded and a perfect demeanor for what he does even if he is a bit roguish. Legit Caesar Gracie black belt with a prior pro boxing career, just needs to be in the UFC.

I know... Fvcking dude had no heart. He had a great chance to better himself and his family in the end for being away just 6 weeks! The guy beat out other hopefuls and should've just ran w/ the opportunity.

RE: THIAGO SILVA TESTING POSITIVE
He was suppose to fight Rampage on the May card. It would've been fireworks. Alas, he fvcked himself by using banned substances w/ his fight w/ Brandon Vera. He's a good fighter w/ marketability. Now, he'll be out of action w/ his upcoming suspension.Love & Fortune favor(s) The One.

saw this vid yesterday and now i'm very excited about ufc 129. i dont see shields beating GSP but hopefully it'll be an exciting fight. Couture vs Machida should be very interesting as well

yea I'm thinking the GSP and Shields fight could be a pretty good fight, well I hope so lol. The Manchida and Couture fight, I'l just say I wish Couture was still in his prime for this one. I think Manchida needs a good win to get him back to where he needs to be. I'd like to see Couture win just so he can go out with a win and do it against a great fighter thats still in his prime. I honestly feel that it will be a one sided fight with Manchida being the victor, but who knows I thought he would kill Rampage cuz he's a smart fighter.
This season of TUF is kinda starting off slow, but it is still young. The first fight was lame as hell and I hope that dude can do more than that. The fight last night wasn't to bad, there was alot of heart in it neither one gave up and that they left it all in the cage.

I see Shields getting beat the hell up. I'm sorry but I hate the guy. Such a boring fighter. He has worse standup than Kos and will get muscled on the ground. I cannot wait to see his lackluster run of wins come to an end.
I wanted to see Jacare beat him up back in Strikeforce. He woulda' had his BJJ exposed by a truely elite practitioner.
Cannot wait for Aldo vs. Hominick. Mark is a super nice guy and very well rounded. Aldo is unreal. But Mark has great cardio and ridiculous speed.
This card is going to be amazing. I tried to get tickets and it was impossible. Going to throw a big party, I feel like the $$$ I saved on overpriced tickets for a nosebleed will pay off. But it will be nuts in the Skydome/Roger's Centre.
Couture vs. Machida? Not overly excited about it. Couture is great, but I don't think he'll be able to muscle Machida. He has some solid takedown defense and typically a great strategy.Last edited by lifeoftheparty.; 04-08-2011 at 05:12 PM.

A lot of energy on the Strikeforce card. Fvcking Gilbert Melendez straight murdered Tatsuya Kawajiri.
Main event is on deck...

I got Shields for the upset and bringing another belt back home to the Cesar Gracie camp here in Cali. Diaz/Daley was one of the best rounds in a long time, Diaz always comes to fight, one of the best.
