Season Tickets
My wife and I go to a lot of sporting events all over the country. I have always been a season ticket holder of Miami University ( Redhawks ) hockey simply to support the school - most of those tickets are donated back to the school or given to friends.
However, this year I was offered 2 season tickets to the Cubs. The tickets are bleachers ( general admission ) and are going to set me back $7700. We travel a lot, work a lot, and generally have no intention of using them all. I want to tickets to the Cubs in case they ever make it to the World Series...what would you do?
The team probably won't be very good this year, chances of playoffs are slim....how should I approach this? I have 10 days to pay the balance. How do other baseball fans justify season tickets?

I would buy them, because that is a very rare offer!
You can sell off the tickets with ease, and if for some reason every other team is killed in some freak accident, they might make it to the play offs, or the world series.JEEP: The dirtiest of the four-letter words

I wouldn't buy them if you are not going to plan on going to that many games. Let's say you go to 10 games a season, you can take that 7700 and buy 20 tickets with it and they will be much better than GA.

Thanks for your input....both valid points....I'm just torn right now. There are quite a few things one could buy for $7700 that is neither as frustrating as the Cubs and lasts a lot longer ( just look at the watch forum )....but like someone mentioned, it is a rare opportunity to be a Cubbie season ticket holder.
