    Default Lakers sign Matt Barnes!

Kobe Bryant helped me sign with Lakers, Matt Barnes says - NBA - SI.com

That's a big move for the Lakers, they needed this.

as a Magic fan, i agree - he is *excellent* back-up material. not being a starter will help him keep his intensity every second he's on the floor - and it possibly helps Kobe save some energy w/ defense.

i wish the Magic could've kept him but he was the weakest link (well, VC, ahem) of the starting five.

Nice move LA. The Lakers have arguably the best player in the NBA (some would argue of all time) but they also know how to assemble winning rosters. Winning championships takes more than relying on just a couple superstars and some minimum contract players on their way out the league.

That wasn't a jab at any other team.

Actually that was KOBE who reached out to get him, which was very smart by kobe and smart by the lakers listening to him. They needed him, good 6th man. I hope they get atleast one more strong player.
