playing in the olympics/world championships is a different than the wear and tear of a whole season/playoffs--even then, they didn't win it all each time. i'm sure the trio get along well but chemistry with the rest of the team isn't an automatic. i'm a fan of the moves by the three of them, but i hate the fanfare they're participating in.

You said they hadn't played a game together; I proved otherwise. They didn't want to be the only superstars on the team, Wade usually had to give 110% every night to win, I'm sure the same could be said for Bosh and James.
As for the fanfare, eh, I'm sure if I liked an opposing team, I wouldn't enjoy it either, but I guess since I'm from the other side of the coin, I do. Mickey Arison and Pat Riley are geniuses, not only were they able to sign 3 of the best 10 players in Basketball, they also sold out all of their season tickets and tourism has increased.
I am however afraid of what will happen if Miami doesn't produce/win. The media will be firing on all cylinders.
You stated that they needed to build chemistry, well it's easier to do that when there is a foundation already laid.Last edited by JasonV; 07-17-2010 at 12:49 PM.

BUT, Wade & James are two superstars. Yes they are friends, and yes they can play together in the USA team. But that's just the Olympics. An Olympic championship run is NOT the same as an entire NBA season + post-season.
Both players are used to put up mad numbers, and they both need to get the ball in their hands so that they can make their plays, get into their flow, etc. Even if they are friends, they will be jealous of eachother.
I'm interested in seeing what'll happen if eg. the Heat loses a game or two in a row. Who will the media blame it on? Lebron? Wade? They'll have to endure some serious psychological situations, and we all know that friendship can easily turn into jealousy, greed, etc.
However, I'm NOT, like many others, hoping for some kind of injury for LJ/DW/CB. I hope they'll bring their best game to the table, and I'm confident that they'll get their asses handed to 'em by the LakeShow

i may be in the minority, but i hope the heat do great and create a dynasty. i prefer watching any good team that plays well together to a team just because it's within driving distance.
i wouldn't consider arison a genius just as i wouldn't consider jerry buss a genius. i'm curious how the trio are going to respond to spoelstra's coaching. so far, he seems to be doing a good job given the personnel, but it's a long journey between good and great.
of course the media will fire, premature celebration is one of the worst things you can do competitively. i like all 3 players, although bosh is a lot lower than the other two skillwise and i like the subsequent signings to fill out the roster. we'll see...it'll be interesting

the Heat experiment will be interesting - i've always said Bosh is a 2nd-tier player - who knew he was 3rd tier?

they are definitely favorites to win the East and LBJ is happy passing so i don't see a huge issue w/ chemistry in the short-term. not winning, however unlikely, is the greatest danger to their chemistry.
i hope Dwight has been practicing his free throws this summer!
