if football goes down, I won't see those fantasy leagues popping up...Those are annoying...
I prefer just straight up betting: spreads, over/unders, and prop bets
But gambling will be down, at least on the sports side of things, in the USCurrently Driving:

I REALLYYYY hope this doesnt happen. I dont watch basebell(fun to play but boring to watch), soccer has never been my cup of tea<same goes for hockey. Its a shame how leagues have gotten so screwed up. Hopefully they can come to some sort of agreement. I need my NBA and NFL.

I hope it doesn't happen for another 5 years! Let Kobe get a few more titles

The people who say they aren't stupid enough to let it happen, they'd be stupid not to. Teams are losing so much money on player salaries its crazy. They make more money by not paying and still banking off merchandise and in some cases even leasing out the arenas/stadiums for other events such as concerts etc etc.
As far as I'm aware players never have gotten any money from jersey sales. All money made on merchandise goes into a pool for teams and that is part of the revenue that helps pay salaries so yes in a way none of the players really make more than each other off jersey sales but their higher salaries will naturally consume a larger chunk of that cash. I'm not sure how long its been like that but i KNOW its been like that at least since 1997 so maybe prior to 97 it was set up differently but thats how its structured now, it may change again in the new CBA.

Agreed, since about the late 80s/early 90s......when the Bulls were storming through the NBA in the mid 90s the league had expanded and talent was spread very thin so there wasn't a lot of competition........people just point to the Bulls dominance but it was really a lack of overall talent. Thats another reason why the 72 win season will never be seen again.........its doubtful the talent level would ever be spread so thin.
