Absolutely ridiculous, Kobe is so nasty...

And Gasol needs to be fucking traded already, gave up 2 easy defensive plays at the end, he is the OPPOSITE of clutch.. Always f'ng up when it counts...

While I definitely think Gasol took a few steps back this year I dunno about being traded. Haha and I think being weak mentally and folding in the clutch is just a trait of Euro ballers! I have never seen a truly clutch Euro player.........plus you got Dirk, arguably the best Euro baller maybe ever and his team was up 2-0 in the Finals and let the heat come back, then the epic 1/8 seed meltdown the year later. I'm not holding Pau's un-clutch against him, like I said, its in his genes as a Euro baller

I would like to see more effort though, all I hear on tv is him screaming "AAANNND 1!!!!!" Just trying to wait for the refs to bail him out. Has anyone else noticed as well that Bynum is getting more 4th quarter minutes than Gasol as of late? Last night Pau didn't go back in until there was only 3 minutes left in the 4th. I think Phil is trying to tell Gasol to cowboy the f**k up. Also Bynum is better defensively and is a lot tougher and more of a banger.

If the Lakers don't win the championship this year then I say the Lakers need to make a trade with either Gasol or Bynum.....I'd probably say Bynum cuz he is more inconsistent and this would be a pretty good season for him so his stock would be high and I'm not ready to write off Gasol......however the Lakers have no excuses, they have by far the most talent in the league. The Lakers right now are almost video game stupid.......its almost the kind of team you would think could be assembled only on a video game.

Beast analogy, you are right... But that's what pisses me off, wtf is the problem? They should be manhandling every team, not having to rely on kobe for a damn game winner against the raptors lol...

And Pau gave up 2 EASY buckets on the defensive end last night in the last few minutes, that shit just pisses me off....

Well the Raptors aren't exactly the Nets so I wasn't expecting them to just lie down and wait for the Lakers to march over them.

IMO it looks like the Lakers are trying to play man to man defense vs helping or overhelping and leaving guys wide open. Kobe can play some of the best 1 on 1 defense of anyone in the league but its been hit on time and time again by announcers and analysts, he likes to play free safety and go for double teams rather than stay with his man. Jalen Rose had a good analysis of one of the final plays that when the guy drove the lane there was already a big to help with the double but Kobe went anyways and his man hit a wide open shot.........

Artest is playing some of the most aggressive defense I've seen out of him in years, but he isn't assisting either, he is reluctant to leave his man whenever Fisher gets beat(which is often) so a big has to come out and leave his guy open or foul the guard. I'm not sure Artest's train of thought but I'd presume he doesn't want to leave his man for the fear the guy gets the ball back and hits a shot and Artest's defensive numbers don't look as good.

Another thing to consider is the Laker's opponents have hit an astronomical amount of 3s lately to keep games close or build on leads. You could say this is bad D but another thing to look at is any motion offense like the Triangle(Lakers) or Flex(Phoenix) the defensive rotations are more about clogging the paint and not letting an opponent hit an easy shot as the percentages are a lot worse for teams to hit 3s even if they are wide open. Lakers are just in a stretch where their opponents are hitting more often than not, this will not always be the case as the law of averages will apply and it will go down.

Phil Jackson did mention something though about how they are going to change their defensive rotations to try to chase those shooters down more so who knows.

Overall don't panic.......its the regular season still and as long as the Lakers finish with a better record than anyone out west we're ok. I won't count the Lakers out till they are down in game 7 by 25 with double 0s on the clock
