Shot my first under par round ever this past weekend!!
Not much of a post, but just thought I'd share.....
I bogey'd the 17th and missed a 15 footer for birdie on 18 to shoot a -1, 71. So close to shooting 69!! Needless to say I am very pleased.
Greens in Regulation were THE key to this score.... as I only hit 6 fairways, but had 12 Greens in Regulation and a total of 30 putts.Last edited by RAWMEAN; 09-16-2009 at 09:54 PM.

Bravo!! Best I've done in regulation is a 77 a couple of times. Definitely a lot of GIR and hitting some long putts is crucial to going low.
What was the slope of the course you played, if you don't mind me asking? When I'm not here, I'm slinging IT infrastructure or gone golfing

Of course I don't mind bro... Slope: 134
It's amazing what you can do if you have 2 putts to make par on most holes.... As a matter of fact, I "3 jacked" #17 which was a par 3, on in one.... because the pin was way in back and I was afraid that my addrenylin was so high that if I tried to get it close I would go over the green which is O.B. 100 foot put w/ a big right to left..... got it to 8 feet but lip'd out the par... :-\

Congrats. Now that you've broken par, it will come so much easier next time. Going low is so much fun; being able to fire at pins and drain putts with confidence is the best part of the game. My career round is 68.
