Too early for 2010 NBA predictions?
The whole Shaq to Cleveland thing is getting interesting. Can you imagine an NBA finals of Shaq, Lebron, Kobe, Phil? The hype machine would be going into overdrive.
Lakers have a definite shot to repeat. They're young and as long as they can keep together and keep healthy they can make a few more runs. I think Boston has another year or 2 left in them...........but they're getting old. Cleveland can be good again next year as long as they can add another piece. I hear on ESPN Rasheed Wallace possibly to Cleveland?
I'm interested to see what the Thunder do this year. They were rapidly improving and have a good young core. Memphis with OJ Mayo, Gay, and Thabeet(assuming they draft him over Rubio) could also be interesting in a weak lower half Eastern Conference.

cleveland with rasheed and shaq? i *really* like rasheed, one of my all-time favorite players, but i can't imagine that team functioning. i think shaq is over the hill and i think he would end up being a liability - you'd hope lebron wins you 2 games, shaq's big body 1 game, and some role player the 4th. rasheed maybe has 1-2 decent seasons in him, his size obviously being the major advantage against an orlando or boston. but i think it's the dallas or phoenix syndrome - trying to buy a team to beat someone w/ a very specific purpose in mind - and i don't think it works.
houston will also be an interesting team - artest seems to be the heart & soul now (and, yes, i assume he will be re-signed) - which is never a bad thing IMO (yes, another one of my favorite players) - and that could take the spotlight off of Tracy - which could be a very dangerous thing for other teams. of course, tracy & yao could just as easily get hurt on the 1st possession of the season.
chicago could also be exciting to watch - and they could play the role of spoiler big-time in the playoffs.
my prediction? lakers vs magic

Houston will be interesting I agree!
Chicago I don't think will do much because they don't have a very legitimate front court and are just a jump shooting team. Yes a team like that can win, look at the Magic..........but they have 1 dominant big.
You're really telling me that Joakim Noah, Brad Miller, and Tyrus Thomas are gonna bang around with the other front courts in the east?
