If Amare goes to DC and Gilbert stays healthy watch out for the Wiz next year.

That doesn't make a lot of sense for either team.
Amare wants to be the man and he has established himself in PHX. The Wizards would have to give up too much to get him anyways. Also neither gilbert nor Amare play any defense so they still won't go anywhere, they might be exciting to watch but will exit the playoffs early.
Thats also assuming Arenas is anything near what he was before............if you look at his stats too he never shot a very high percentage he just shot a lot. Now with 2 major knee surgeries who knows how quick he will be.

i think artest, if he re-signs, is the heart & soul of the houston team now (though the whole team showed they have it.) grady is obviously expendable and his expiring contract should get a hit somewhere. if so, that's $20M worth of players in return; do the right trade, and Yao could be expendable (due to his constant injuries.)
Houston could be the new Detroit - a 'tough' 'team'.
Cleveland/Yao would be scary on paper b/c Yao is sooo good - but - he'll get hurt - back to square one. I would rather have Yao than Shaq any day though.

No one cares about Paul Pierce besides his mom and Boston fans. I think he forgets how he couldn't even get his Celtics close to the playoffs in the weaksauce Eastern Conference until he got 2 All-Stars and probably hall of famers.
I don't mind Pierce as a player but I think in the last 2 years he has gotten a rather inflated vision of himself.

I really don't see the Magic going as far as they did this year. The reality is, they really don't have a team that can compete with the Celtics or the Lakers. Howard, as sick as he is, is just Shaq in shape. If the Lakers don't get complacent, I'm gonna go with them.

While I agree with your Lakers repeating statement
I disagree on the shaq/Howard comparisson..........Shaq was a way more dominant force. You never saw Shaq getting pushed around like he did vs Perkins and Bynum. Nor was Shaq ever confused looking like Howard is.
Kobe is trying to cement his legacy and while I don't think he'll ever catch Jordan's greatness, I believe he wants to be solidly in the conversation so he wants more rings. I don't see them getting complacent.
