Charity Car Show Possibility (Naples Ft. Myers area)
For my civic engagement class we have to plan a charity event. My group was thinking of planning a charity car show (for all makes and models) at some point over the summer. It's still in the wayyyyyy early planning stages but I wanted to gauge interest in having the event. We would probably having it a one of the outdoor shopping areas nearby (most likely Gulf Coast Town Center or Mercato) and probably later in the summer (late June/ early July). Anyway, if you have any ideas, comments or suggestions feel free to chime in.

Trust me when I tell you its not easy making one of these things happen, you need to be highly involved in the local car community and have the support of some local members. These days everyone is trying to do these and usually people are selective with where and how they spend their time.

Yeah we've seen that happen alot in the local scene. The guy that runs the charity we've chosen is a big car guy and through Exotics and Luxury and various other events I've picked up some connections around the state. We're not talking SCX big but it'd be nice to have an okay turn out. There are also various other local clubs I was going to try and get in touch with (The Naples Ferrari Club, the local PCA chapter) as well as the local forums. If we choose to have the event in GCTC I've already talked to one of the stores and they'll be having a special during the event for participants (which, fingers crossed, will be a draw).
The biggest obstacle is the time alloted. The professor already said he'd give us an extension past the time of the class, but even then it has to happen before school starts in the fall. Our original choice to have the event in late June/July gives us enough time to do the legwork and spread the word.
Edit: Sorry for the book, thanks for chiming in Raw!
