Thread: TX2K12 - AKA Texas 2012 Event

I wanted to know who here was looking at going to this event this year and from what city you are coming from. For all of those who don't know about it, information below.

The TX2K event started as a small grass roots Supra only event in 2000 in Houston, Texas and since that time has grown into a national car event that attracts hundreds of cars and thousands of people from across the United States. At the 2010 event, we had 26 of the states represented including visitors from other countries. In addition to a strong continued committment from the Supra community, this event draws a large number of other car enthusiasts including Porsche's, Viper's, Lamborghini's, Corvette's, etc. The event schedule follows the same basic format each year.

Friday March 16, 2012 - Dyno Day With 2 Side By Side Dynometers At Hennessey Performance Engineering
Saturday March 17, 2012 - Qualifying, Test & Tune & Roll Racing At Lonestar Motorsports Park
Sunday March 18, 2012 - Eliminations At The Drag Strip At Lonestar Motorsports Park

HoustonPerformanceDriving.com will be hosting the TX2K12 Night Meet & Bikini Contest @ Frank-N-Steins Bar and Grill in Katy! Frank-N-Steins will be the Head Quarters for all TX2K12 meet ups and driver gatherings during the event week. TX2K Coordinator Peter Blach (houstonT) along with Houston Performance Driving would like to welcome all the TX2K drivers and spectators to The Power City!

The fastest and most powerful street cars in the nation will be coming to Houston, TX for the TX2K12 National Performance Meet. It's a privilege for HPD to be able to work with the TX2K and Frank-N-Steins Staffs to bring you a "balls deep" TX2K12 Night Meet this year.

Night Meet Rules and Parking
1) Please do not drive in a unlawful manner. There will be a lot of people walking around the parking lot. We do not need anyone injured by someone trying to show-off. There will be police officers at the meet working that will ticket you for anything that warrants it.

2) No burn outs, loud music, or continual engine revving. Please be respectful of these rules and everything will be just fine.

3) Please be respectful of all rides at the Night Meet. Please do not sit or lean on any car/truck/bike.

4) Use your common sense and please be 100% safe at all times. It's that easy.

Parking
1) The small parking area in front of Frank-N-Steins is for sponsors and VIPs. If you do not fall into one of those categories please park in the side lot alongside in the K-Mart lot.

2) The large parking area on the K-Mart will be for all the car clubs and other forum groups. Please park and hang out.

The official TX2K12 hotel is Omni Houston Hotel Westside (same hotel as the last 3 years). It took a lot of work to get them to accept us back, but they were agreeable at the end of the day. The hotel is located approximately 25 minutes from Lonestar Motors Park and very close to the night meet location. It's off I-10 and is very accessible from the interstate.

This will be my fifth straight year I travel 1200 miles one way. Easily the best event out there.

It really never gets old, always something to do, great group of people and overall best event of the year I go to.

I've heard of this event! I'm gonna go this coming year!!!!!
