Default New Guy From Austin, Texas

Hello L4P members, new member here. As the username may suggest, my name is Arthur Simondet. I'm from sunny (well not so much) central Texas (Austin). I am going to make an attempt to make a decent introduction thread (which may also mean long so be ready for it). I am a young and motivated student in high school (graduating this year) with aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur.

Introduction out of the way let me begin with my passion for automobiles. I have always loved cars ever since I rode in a sports car and felt the push of being forced into the back of the seat for the first time. My parents have raised me by the "work hard and play harder" rule, at least that's how I look at it. Nothing is handed to me, I have to work for everything I have and also be able to afford to maintain it and keep it legal on the road. When I turned 16 and received my license I acquired the family beater car, a 1995 Explorer. Even though I absolutely hated it for some reason I still had just "that" much care for it because it was my first real possession.

After 6 months of safe driving, no tickets, no wrecks, etc. I was ready to start looking at getting my first sports car with everything I had saved up for so long I couldn't remember. With a little bit of help (and it didn't come easy) I purchased a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX, stock, one owner, absolutely perfect. Only then did I first realize just how rewarding it is to actually work for something and have it be "really" yours. Even though it may not have been as visually appealing as what some of the other kids at the high school drove I was happy with what I had because of the aforementioned points (and... the fact that I was faster... but we'll keep that aside).

Within a month my father placed me in a high performance driving school (Driveway Austin) so I could understand advanced driving techniques on a track that can be applied on the much more dangerous public road and separate me from the typical male teenage driver. He knew I was going to push the car here and there and wanted to insure that I could "drive dumb, intelligently". Overtime I have added a fair share of modifications and personalized the car a little bit. I have one edited picture I'll attach, I'll post more regular pictures this weekend after I detail her, she can use the loving.

Automotive out of the way, let me talk a little bit about my entrepreneurship aspirations as I had stated above. Ever since I started high school I have been inspired by a variety of entrepreneurs (not the usual) including Maximillion Cooper and others. I started taking basic marketing and management courses during my underclassman years and then advanced to entrepreneurship, specific marketing techniques involving social, media and networking as well as global business.

This year I am competing in D.E.C.A (High School Entrepreneurship Club) with my current business plan in hopes of attending nationals and bringing home some valuable feedback and contact information that will obviously serve me much purpose for my future. In short, my business plan is for a high end automotive facility that does sales, rentals and detailing of exotic automobiles. I know it sounds like the usual but I do have my plans for sticking out from my competition.

To end this novel of a post (sorry but that's who I am) I wanted to first thank you for reading something that probably won't affect you in any way and also say that I am open to all feedback both good and bad. I have the Supra Forums Off Topic under my belt so for those of you who know what I'm talking about you know I can hold up. Though I am young, I try to maintain the best image I can as much as possible. When I discovered L4P I realized that this is the place to be if I wanted real feedback on automotive related subjects as well as business. It only took me a couple of hours to see how successful many of you have become and because of that I sincerely ask, be honest with me and lead me in the right direction.

Once again thank you for reading, if any of you would like to read a copy of my business plan and give me some feedback or even work with me (if you have the time obviously) to improve certain sections please feel free to PM me and I will do the best I can to use your time effectively and take all of your points into consideration.

Note: Didn't know where to post my introduction so I posted it here and in the Asian Auto section so lock/delete accordingly I guess, my apologies for any inconvenience.
