areas near DFW airport
So, to the Texas peeps, or those who know the area, what are some good/nice places to live within 30-45 minutes from the DFW airport?

House or Apartment? Either way 30-45 minutes will get you to basically any nice area in DFW for the most part. I have lived everywhere from West Plano to Las Colinas and now up in Denton. I really liked the atmosphere when I had a loft in Las Colinas...though it isn't a place I would bring a wife and kids. PM me if you have any areas you are curious about. Also look at Grapevine, Southlake, Flower Mound, and Argyle. All nice areas...

I would like a house but it will probably be an apt when I first get out there. How is The Colony?

The colony is ok...there are some really good deals in the colony right now actually. If you are looking for a 3 bedroom 2 bath type home that would be a great place to look. Little Elm is right by the colony and it is growing a ton right now...it would be somewhere you could buy and most likely not have to worry about taking a loss when you sell due to the rapid growth.

Southlake is the first place I would go, but is the furthest and most expensive. Grapevine is in the middle of everywhere and is closest to the airport. Las Colinas is nice but surrounded by the ghetto Irving area. Farmers Branch is cheap and close. Addison is a good night life scene and all are good choices! Good luck

It depends on what area of The Colony... There are some really nice areas closer to Little Elm/Frisco that are nice. Check out The Tribute golf community. Originally Posted by jnwings

I just recently bought a house in the Addisson/Carrollton area and I am really enjoying the area. Lots of nice houses and Ive seen several for sale recently.

What is your lifestyle?.... I live in Highland Park and it is 5 minutes from Love Field and about 35 from DFW. Its right in the middle of everything.
