Nope, I have been living in Las Vegas for over 5 years, have had a good amount of tickets and never been asked about a front plate on my Corvette.
Also another good thing to know about Las Vegas is the availability of lawyers that will fight traffic tickets for a small fee, sometimes free but usually between $50-$100. I have had a number of speeding tickets, and every time I pay a lawyer and they are reduced to parking tickets. Total cost comes out to be less than the original price of the ticket and it does not go on your record or increase your insurance. Here are a couple of the ones that I use the most.

It is required in the state of Nevada. However as mentioned above almost nobody follows the plate rules and the tint rules here and for the most part the police ignore it unless your in Henderson.
From the Nevada DMV Nevada License Plates
Most vehicles require two plates at all times, except motorcycles and trailers, which require only a rear plate. You must display both plates if the vehicle is designed for a front plate or if the manufacturer offers an add-on bracket or frame. (NRS 482.275)
Front plates are optional only if 1) the vehicle was not designed for a front plate and 2) the manufacturer did not provide an add-on bracket or other means of displaying the front plate.
DMV will issue two plates for all vehicles (except motorcycles and trailers). If the second plate is not displayed, it is the owner's responsibility to store the second plate and surrender or return both plates to the department at the appropriate time.
