Where is Spring Texas in relation to Secure or Revved, our resident Texans. Is there a BMW/Mini dealer in the area?

Based on the names of the surrounding towns, you would think that Secure would call the area home.. Spring is just south of "Cut and Shoot" and Security, TX.

It's also just north of Houston.

According to the MiniUSA site, the closest dealer is in The Woodlands, TX which is just north of Houston. Is a dealer a good place to get a PPI or should I find an indy? (yes, this is my first used car purchase)

Spring is just south of the woodlands. Less than 10 minutes. There is a Porsche dealer in Spring or The Woodlands. Don't remember which.

I would call the dealer there and ask to speak with the service manager. Tell him what you need. On a 997 or 996 car, I would definitely do it at the dealer. On a 993 or earlier probably and independent, but depends on dealer.

Dealer would be acceptable because they know the product, and (I assume) you are not purchasing the car from them so they have no motivation to give it a false clean bill of health. Also, the paper work will state that you paid them for a prepurchase vehicle inspection so the should do a decent job. If you can find a reputable independant in the area, that would be better.

Danke, T. I'd rather give the biz to an indy, which is why I posted this thread in the first place. But if no one has any suggestions, then the dealer it is. Thanks for the input all.
