It's nice to see that your guys cover the straps before putting them through the wheels.
Most places don't, when I ask them why, they say, "Well it won't scratch." I know of one carrier that damaged 4 wheels on a brand new truck by not covering the straps.

Three days after I received my brand new RRS (in '06), the car had electrical problems on the road and I called my local RR and asked them to find me a carrier. When I picked up my car at the dealership, all 4 wheels where massivly scratched. And of course the carrier-company denied everything, and I had to pay for 4 new rims out of my own pocket.

I transport enclosed, like George does, I tie to the suspension with soft straps, it allows the car to bounce but not move.
I delivered a Nissan GTR to a dealer and they told me the previous car that was delivered had CHAINS put on it and they pulled the ABS sensor wires off of the car.
