    Default Spied: 2010 Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce engineers have been working on a new, smaller model--what we've been calling the Baby Rolls.

Our spy photographers have spotted the new Rolls being tested, and wearing less camouflage as the launch time nears.

This smaller Rolls makes use of parent company BMW's 7-series sedan platform. One recognizable item on these early cars is handles for rearward opening doors--what in some circles are known as suicide doors.

Production of this Baby Rolls--codenamed RR4--is set to start in 2010. Rolls-Royce will build about 800 copies a year, starting in the low three hundred thousand dollar range--and only climbing, depending on over-the-top options.

I like the concept of the suicide doors. The RR flows well too

I like it. Whoops. Missed the price. Anybody else think that this is too close to the Phantom?

    ^Last two lines....j/k
I would guess that +300k is just an estimate for a car due out in 2 years.

What's wrong is they can't sell any more of them or else they will ruin the exclusivity of the car. So they've come up with this.

I'm not all that thrilled... I think Rolls should stay UBER baller

I know it's camoed, but it almost looks like an older S-Class. Not really feeling anything unique about it aside from the handles. I'm sure it will have a huge front grill, but may be too plain.

I am with you. A Rolls will sell at any price point. Make less, price higher. But one has to realize that 300+ is still a large chunk of change. I know RR won't turn into Bentley, but still. Anyone know how many out of the promised 10000 phantoms RR has sold now?
