Thinking about purchasing a 2005 Used Bentley...Advice?
Hey guys!
So, I'm looking to purchase a continental gt within the next month or so. I live in the NYC tristate area and the variation in prices is pretty odd. There was an 05 Silver Conti w/ 8K miles and Bentley Long Island was asking 75K for it. And Then Manhattan Motorcars has an 05 silver conti but with different wheels (neither of them are Mulliner) and 7K miles and they're asking 120K?!
Anyway, what should be the price point for an 05 (color doesn't really matter) with about 15k-20k miles? Also, is the warranty a must with these cars? Most of the 05's I've seen don't have warranty's on them, but since they cost like 6 grand every two years they may not be neccessary because instead of spending that 6 grand on the warranty I could just spend that on general repairs and upkeeping for the car I guess? But then, without the warranty, I'm guessing the labor cost per hour for servicing would be through the roof.
Also, If anyone knows of any good dealers in the NYC area please let me know!
Thank you.Last edited by ohmyuni; 03-09-2010 at 07:52 AM.

I had two cars and had zero problems. Kept in touch with the guy with the 05 and he has had 0 as well last we spoke. A couple friends of mine on the other hand had terrible repair experiences with their cars though. That being said, I think I would get a warranty as it will most likely pay for itself after the first major breakdown.

I had a couple electrical issues with my 05, nothing major though. I would definitely get a warranty though. Better safe than sorry. Good luck!

Make sure that you purchase a 2005 from a Bentley franchised dealer, as they are the only ones that can offer a Bentley Certified Pre-Owned warranty. To offer the CPO coverage, the original in-service date of the car needs to be less than 5 years old so only 2005's sold after todays date in 2005 would be eligible.
Cars are built by human beings and no matter how much the car costs, things can break. There are over 10,000 parts on the average car. If there is a 1/2 of 1% chance that something could go wrong on the car in the next two years of ownership then that is still 50 parts. You can pick the 50 parts and I will bet that on a Bentley it will far outweigh the cost of buying the CPO coverage on a car from a Bentley Authorized dealer.
Don't be afraid to expand your search to Bentley dealers in other markets, preferably warm weather climates as the roads are better than in NY and the cars take less abuse.- Professional and knowlegable staff dedicated to providing the Ultimate Lamborghini Experience. -
