Richardson's is great New Mexican food and a favorite of folks who live in Central Phoenix. Neighborhood isn't that bad. I live a couple blocks east of there by the Biltmore.
Also try Chelsea's Kitchen it's at 40th and Camelback. Then you can go down the road to Postino Wine Bar after dinner.

INHO there are 2 places to eat in Phoenix. I always hit both when ever I am out there.
Maestros which is north of the 101, south of Dynamite. Awesome restaurant, you must try the lobster mashed potatoes. A full pound of lobster with awesome garlic mashed potatoes. Expensive, it was $700 including drinks for the 4 of us. Well worth it.
For Italian you must to go Tuti Santi. There is a location in Scottsdale and North Phoenix. The North Phoenix location is my pick of the 2.Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch...I love Scotch

I always go to The Office off shea, great sports bar for a burger.
Mastros for fine dining is top notch
I've heard great things about the roaring fork but haven't been there.
PS: The pretzel bread at mastros is ADICTING"Hard work and perseverance will always override genetics. Life isn't about what you're born with. It's what you do with what you have."
