I went there a while ago. The toro is incomparable. Only in Tokyo was anything close to it.

This place was bullcrap compared to Jiro. Sorry, that is my honest opinion from my recent trip to Japan.
If you haven't had Jiro, you haven't had sushi period. He is one of the few remaining sushi masters left in Tokyo.

EDIT: BTW Jiro received 3 Michelin Stars.

you'll need to do a better job explaining than that. what was "bullcrap"? the fish quality? creaminess of the rice vs Jiros' more al dente? the cuts? the temperature of the fish? temperature of the rice? seasoning of the rice?

which Jiro did you go to? the original or the roppongi hills outlet?

i went to the other 3-star place (Mizutani) and it was not as good as Masa.

It's a lot to describe, and I don't know if I am able to capture it in words...it was like a 20-course mouth orgasm & every single course was incredible. Masa was good, but, in my opinion, it's mediocre (run of the mill)...it's difficult to get bad sushi in Japan, you actually might have to try pretty hard haha, even the hole-in-the-wall places in Shibuya-ku serve up some mighty good stuff.

From what I remember I had the (can't remember every one):
    Hirame
    Sumi-ika
    Shima-aji
    Chu-toro
    Oo-toro
    Hamaguri
    Aji
    Kuruma-ebi
    Sayori
    Tako
    Saba
    Uni
    kura
    Anago
    Tamago

God, the Tamago alone was insane...it was fluffy and dense like some sort of pound cake, it was so so good, and it was just frickin' Tamago!!! Jiro is sushi in it's purest form...

I went to both the father-owned Ginza location & the newer son-owned Jiro in Roponggi hills, they were both equally epic. Truly a category of its own...I don't even know what sort of crap I was eating before Jiro, but it definitely wasn't sushi it was truly the highlight of my trip. I'll post up pics when I get a chance.
