Chains and corporate America- The destruction of good food?
I have to rant somewhere. Im just really pissed off. Went out to dinner last night to a local Mexican place that me and my fiance really liked only to find out that they were now operating under E brands who also bought another Restaurant we liked and screwed them both up! Independents just arent making it anymore. It's a real shame.
On top of that does anyone rememebr the days when Chilis really did have some of the best chili and best burgers? Ever remember goin to an outback and saying that wasnt half bad??? Not 2 of my favorites but not bad for something quick. Now they both suck.
All these places are cutting quality and just adding salt as a substitute. Incerdibly unhealthy and not very good tasting.
Sorry I had to vent. Im just so sick of restaurants going to hell. You cant find good food anywhere anymore.

its happening everywhere. the quality just goes down.
one local family owned mexican restaurant told me they
had to go to cheaper cuts of meat and a cheaper vendor
for veggies. now quality is not as good and they know it,
but they are doing it to be able to stay in business. but
i think they will be loosing customers.

^^^ Ya see thats just sad IMO. But that dosent tick me off as much. There are a lot of people struggling out there. Cuts become necessary in a lot of ways.
Im particularily turbed abot the corporate no-it-alls that take over restaurants and ruin them. Share holder rule I guess. What can you do : (Courage is not the abscense of fear it is the conquest of it........

It is happening all over in TX. Alot worse than I noticed in CA. We have WAY too many chains that are putting the mom and pops out of biz.

I think Chipotle is just as good since McDonalds bought them.

I try to support the little places whenever I can. These big chains are killing to many businesses.

I do like Olive Garden...
Come on! Who doesn't love their endless salad and breadsticks! Don't judge me!
