Thread: Newport, CA Sushi Spot

For anyone in the Newport area looking for some Sushi and Asian cuisine I highly suggest going to 3 4 5, otherwise known as San Shi Go (numbers in japanese). I have gone to quite a few Japanese restaurants and I have to say that this one is in my top 5. It is a smaller restaurant and I highly suggest getting seats at the sushi bar. It is on the Balboa Peninsula, I can't remember the exact location but I'll leave the number if anyone wants to go.

how does this compare to ikka in costa mesa? small, out of the way place, but i was surprised how much i liked it.

haven't been to ikka before, but next time i'm in cali i'll head over there and then let you know how they compare. All I know is that at 345 the chefs are really personal at night if you are able to go with few people there. After ordering a few things the main chef started to make some very good suggestions along with adding some special ingredients from Japan that aren't on their menu.

Read about it in the OC magazine. I totally forgot about it. Will go check it out next time

If I know I'll be in Cali for sure in March I'll see about putting together a night we can get a large group to go. They do some great deals with large groups and the food is always more interesting with groups.
