recommended resturants in NYC?
GF and I are headed to NYC in December for the weekend. ( 17th and 18th) Does anybody recommend any nice restaurants? We are both "foodies" and prefer to eat real food rather than paying a premium for a "trendy" experience.
Looking for any good steak or sushi places anybody care to chime in?
Thanks guys!

I LOOOOVED The River Cafe right over the Brooklyn Bridge. The foie gras was incredible and so were the selections!
AND... the incredible view and intimate atmosphere create PERFECT ambiance!!Raw Mean: "Heather, you should have let us know we would have sent a private jet to pick u up. All you need to do is ask girlie. We take care of our own."

good man!

if you want the "best", here are my picks:
1 - sushi - Masa - $600/person, best you'll find in this country
2 - steak - Minette Tavern - it's supposed to be as good as Peter Luger was back in its prime
3 - Jean Georges - go for lunch, same food as 1/5 the price, don't know how/why they do it, but they do so take advantage of a legitimate 3-star meal for < $100/person
4 - pizza - Keste - 2nd best in the country
5 - Blue Hill is kinda my goto restaurant in NYC for very good food at reasonable prices in an upper-casual setting - veggies mostly come from their own garden.
