Default Sam Adams Beer Dinner at Michy's Miami

I just got back from the Sam Adams Latin Flair Beer Dinner at Chef Michelle Bernsteins restaurant Michy's. This was a 5 course meal paired with Sam Adams Beers.

1st Course: Shrimp Cocktail vuelve a la vida. This was very similar to a ceviche with barely cooked shrimp in a serrano chile sauce with red onion and cilantro. Pairing Sam Adams Light Very Good Dish

2nd Course: Crispy Chicken Chicharrones filled with peanuts, ground chicken and agua de sandia. It was fried chicken with a ground chicken stuffing in melon juice and topped with melon slices. Pairing Sam Adams Hefeweisen Excellent

3rd Course: Chupe de Pescado with hominy and lime. Filet of Red Snapper in a Thai Curry Broth. Pairing Sam Adams Summer Ale
    Very Good

4th Course: Shepards Pie Latin Style. Braised Oxtail with a boniato and roasted garlic puree. Pairing Sam Adams Boston Lager Best Dish of the Night.

5th Course: Churros with a Chile chocolate Dipping Sauce. pairing Sam Adams Cream Stout Good

The treat of the night. After the meal was done the let us sample Sam Adams Utopias 2005. This is the Ultimate Beer. This is beer but pours like a port. It comes in a Bronze decanter and is poured in 2oz servings. The beer is 25% alcohol and has the most amazing taste. It is very similar to a port in flavor. It is aged in Port and Cognac casks and inherits all those flavors. This was AMAZING.

All in all it was a pretty good Birthday Dinner. i will post some pics once I figure out how to upload pics from my cellphone.

The meal was very good and better than I expected. I have been to Sra. Martinez which is another one of Michelle Bernstein's restaurants and Michy's is superior.

I have seen your blog Chuck and you have been to some amazing places that I dream of going to one day.

    Pixx,

Michys is on 6927 Biscayne Blvd. It is in a little strip mall where you would never expect it to be.

Here is the google maps link:

michy's loc: Miami, FL - Google Maps

Sounds like a great restaurant. I love the fact there are foodies on
L4P. I can always turn here for a good restaurant review.
