Amazing as usual. What is this exceptionally tasty-looking charred bit?
Also, love this presentation, did the fish itself have a "lemony" quality enhanced by the fruit?

first thing is eel - i don't remember the details on the 2nd but it was a very light, "bright" white fish - so yes, to answer your question
we'll have to give this a shot next time you're out here... it's an hour away from SF on the 'bay area autobahn' so you get a two-for-one...
