I'm looking for suggestions of great food, good atmosphere and a moderate price. Lets say plates around 40-60$ (if that is feasible.)

I haven't been to Ssam, but the Noodle bar is amazing. Less than your price range, but great. The momofukus are probably the only place where the atmosphere isn't that bad, and the food is great. Usually it's one or the other.
Buddakhan isn't that bad and the atmosphere is great. Location is cool too, meatpacking.
EDIT: Keith McNallys places are a good choice too-----Pastis, Balthazar, Morandis.Last edited by ashok; 06-21-2009 at 12:33 AM.
