turbology - did the in-car vids turn out? i like that - "each bite was a crayola color"

alex911s - not *that* bad - it's received a lot of national press but you can get a reservation 2 weeks in advance. note that they don't usually serve this stuff @ lunch - only dinner - so keep that in mind. (some people sitting outside with us were very jealous of our dishes )

itzkirb - i'm sure we could organize a Sat afternoon run up there for either lunch or dinner. they have a nice long communal table that could accommodate however many people joined.

    Chuck,

Ask and ye shall receive, however my digicam is severely lacking in A/V ability. It's easy to see your monster reel in that annoying Lexus landboat that blocked us in the tunnel and the Fabspeed sounds tough, but the mic isn't good enough to pick up the badassery with all the windows closed.

had to go for dinner last night and, while many of the dishes were repeats (i asked for them), it was just as outstanding.

    some new stuff (pics later):
    - mille-feuille of OXHEART CARROT and NASTURTIUM FLOWER panade - excellent
    - KOHLRABI “nose to tail”… carpaccio, salsa, leaves, and puree with miso - very good
    - rustic stew of FAVAS in the “tears” of peppers and ORION FENNEL - very good
    - brioche ice cream - excellent

    Chuck,

Glad the GF was able to enjoy her visit there as much as we did. The carrot dish and ice cream sound delicious. Any pics for us?

here are some pics from my recent lunch 2 weeks ago:

    vichyssoise chasseur (before pouring)

    carrot & nasturtium

the infamous pea dish (before consumme)

    seven degrees of beets

    carta da musica

    radish stew

    savory expression of orion fennel

    grits

    sweet expression of orion fennel

    rhubarb float

besides Manresa, it is my 2nd-favorite restaurant in the Bay Area right now. it's very serious dining at casual prices in a casual atmosphere. you have to get the tasting menu to get the full experience; otherwise, it's just casual vegetarian dining.
