Michael Mina SF
Took a good friend here for her graduation, she took pics

Real butter. This actually tastes the way I remember butter from when I was a kid and we had it delivered with the milk. I guess I've gotten used to eating crap since then.

Amuse bouche, L-R, I forget, uni, eel:

Foie gras starter trio, L-R, hot, medium and cold. Cold is my favorite (same at Alexander's):

Beef sampler trio, short rib in the middle 4tw:

Lamb trio, this was better overall than the beef:

"Breakfast" dessert trio:

"Mission" dessert trio:

Bonbons!

To be honest, I tried both Michael Mina in SF and Vegas. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the food in SF (I had the lobster pot pie with my tasting menu). Vegas is much better, for the same money, I'd go there.
It's not to say the restaurant isn't good, the presentation isn't excellent. But for the same money, you do get much better quality and service in Vegas. I ate at both places when it was originally called Aqua as well (same head chef) and felt the same way.Last edited by DimNSlow; 06-20-2008 at 05:47 PM.

I've been there a couple times. Once for a New Year's. Very classy and good food, wouldn't say the best though.

Strange about the pics, she has her FB album set to public...
I've actually heard the reverse about the two places, the one in SF is supposedly better. I guess I'll have to try both, but I already have a long list of places to try in Vegas (JR is at the top, but that's gonna have to wait a bit).
The one in SJ is a steakhouse I think, never been.
Mark, Espetus is great, we should have a meet there
