the chef at coi, daniel patterson, and david kinch (manresa) are actually pretty good friends - so there's a lot of cross-pollination of ideas. coi is quitegood but i have to admit i find it hard to completely understand and enjoy.
french laundry, while very good, is a bit stale and formulaic at this point - it's more polished but it also takes far fewer chances - which makes it less exciting to me. manresa is the 2-star trying to become 3 - so the extra effort and enthusiasm is there.

Manresa...is over-rated in my opinion.
Cyrus out in Healdsburg or Alinea in Chicago if you want something more "chancy & unique". I even think Gary Danko's is consistently better than Manresa. Try them & let me know if you still think Manresa is even remotely as good =)WHAT'S LEFT FOR SALE :
Brand New HRE P40 S 20" Wheels R8/LP-GALLARDO fitment
Brand New R8 PPI Rear CF Diffuser

i see that i will never trust you w/ a restaurant recommendation.
Cyrus is completely over-rated - its approach to food is "take any luxury ingredient you can think of and throw it on the plate"; Alinea is ok but its approach is "that should taste good but it needs more bells & whistles; and Gary Danko is an awesome place for your 17yr old prom date.
