    pearl - i think it was $150/person, never really look, this is MY menu , normal tasting menu of 12 courses or so is $145/person. i was very full at the end.

    A friend of mine worked there. He loved working there but could not handle the stress that came with the job.
    Imagine going to work at 11am and work non stop without rest until 12am.
    He was only 20 and was 3rd in line next to the sous chef.

    But manresa is very good and does the chef still drive the elise?

    Just went to Manresa for the Iron Chef menu and met the Chef! AMAZING!

    i'll just let the pictures speak - the title of this post is more true than ever - a few pics from a recent dinner

    oyster, seaweed


    santa barbara uni in its own cooled brine


    mandarain and jasmine tea jelly


    wild sea bream (from japan), jus of tuna & walnut


    king crab with first peas of spring


    spot prawns w/ roe, vin jaune with truffles (that were actually of high quality, rare in the US)


    exotic citrus w/ honey & tapioca (exotic - there's a farmer here w/ over 200 different types of citrus)

    heh damn, sounds and looks delicious. never been before since it is in the south bay. how would you compare it to coi in sf or french laundry?
