Default Great new resturant: Mayfield, Palo Alto

So I must thank MTK for bringing this gem to my attention. I have been a big fan of their sister restaurants, The Village Pub and Pizza Antica. Mayfield Bakery and Cafe is located in the Town and Country center on the El Camino in Palo Alto across the street from the Stanford campus.

The atmosphere is lively California bistro.
    The service is impeccable.
The menu is "California Comfort" food, very diverse and tasty.
The wine list is quite extensive with excellent choices by the glass.
They have an extensive list of available personal coffee services
    Their bakery items are wonderful

This will definitely become a regular favorite.

Here is what we dined on last night.
    Artichoke and Potato Soup
Roasted Golden Beets with horseradish yogurt and shaved fennel
Hardwood fire roasted chicken served on soft polenta with olive oil and Meyer lemon peel
Bavette Steak (medium rare) served on toasted sourdough with caramelized red onions and arugula
Skinny french fries tosses in parma-reggio cheese
    Cheesecake tart
    Root beer float

    Highly recommend it.

their hamburgers are pretty good for lunch. i'm not a fan of their other restaurants (village pub, spruce) b/c i find the food is over-priced for the quality; but the prices here are in-line with the food quality.
