koju or L'osier?
I am taking my husband for his birthday to tokyo next week, i have booked at both koju and l'osier, which one should we go? I have tried L'osier a few times, loved the ambience. Have never tried Koju, read mixed review. Ryugin is also one of our favourites too, did not want to go there for birthday as the room we find a bit to dark. By the way, the tempura place where they serve the melon for extra $200, we went there in April, was absolutely delicious and worth the experience, very refined and better than the experience we had at Ippoh in Osaka. Can anyone recommend a good place to celebrate birthday in Tokyo?

i personally think Koju might be the best restaurant in the world. it's a very nuanced, and subtle, cuisine but he is a perfectionist - in a land of perfectionists.
l'osier is definitely "fancier" in that french way, with all of the trappings that involves, but i'd do koju if you want something new. but is is bar-seating, 7-8 seats only.
