    Default Morimoto in Manhattan

Have reservations at Morimoto's in Manhattan in a week. Just wanna do a little homework. Anyone have any comments on this place? Anything that I must order? Signature dishes? Any help is appreciated.

i went over 3 years ago when it first opened and sat at the omakase table. it was hit or miss - some ingredients were quite good. however, i don't think the restaurant knew then (it may have changed) what it wanted to be - serious food or trendier-than-nobu club.

my bill for 1 person was $440 and i don't think it was worth that. (and perhaps, most tellingly, i haven't been back)

my review (a bit embarrassing as it was written 3 years ago)

I have been there on numerous occasions. Food is good atmosphere is good. Prices suck tho. Lately they have been getting some bad reps. I think they even fell in the Zagat ratings.
