L2O Chicago
L2O just opened in Chicago and it is definitely trying to be one of the very top restaurants in the US. It is definitely aiming straight for Michelin 3-star status. The menu is mostly fish, and it seems like no expense has been spared.
Outside of Alinea, my highest recommendation for the Chicago area. (For the Bay Area folks, this is the same chef that used to cook at Fifth Floor in its prime a few years ago.)
The chef also has a blog that he updates almost daily

The Tatami room sounds like the way to go if you can get 6 people or so:

The Tatami room sounds amazing, hopefully I'll get a chance to try it some day. Clearly they go above and beyond to enhance the dining experience...
Wow!The table is made of Alaskan yellow cedar, which will be sanded before every service to release the aroma of the wood.Boost Is Better
