Chuck I have yet to experience that Jean Georges lunch, actually, so I should hold my tongue before voicing my favoritism for Balthazar.

I'm planning to go back in Jan/Feb, but with my own budget this time. Masa and JR will be on the agenda, there will be pics...
It's crazy, it was packed on a Wednesday night at 9pm.
Yes, the pudding bar is right across the road, and it's all a la carte. I didn't make it to Doughnut Plant, but then it gives me a reason (one of many) to go back.
No, I actually did the noodles (which he advised against). But I got the pork belly in ramen, which was fabulous.
That's what the liver and coleslaw are for
I really wanted to try Grimaldi's. Just not enough time. Hole-in-the-wall places seem to be the only place to get decent Chinese food over there, the semi decent looking dim sum place I tried was terrible. Richmond, BC is still tops in North America (even the bay area can't compete). I didn't make it to Chelsea Market unfortunately; again, another reason for me to go back.
Is it a NJ vs NY thing? I've also heard RI folks say their pizza is better. I'll add it to my list of things, I'm quite open to long trips for food. As for shipping you a pie, it'd be all soggy by now."It's like being at Thunderhill, only without a helmet" -- Itzkirb riding shotgun with me.
