I've been interested in doing this myself just wasn't sure of the market for it. I do photography as a hobby currently and have lots of interest in RE with plans to get involved in the game a little down the road. This would be a great way to establish contacts and get a good eye on the local market.
Definitely going to watch this thread and might have to start something up soon.

Absolutely the way to go. Spend the money on professional photography. It amazes me how many realtors won't do this. Of course good photos can be quite expensive. But if it sells the house who cares. Price would be dependent on where you live and you're market. Real estate is quite expensive where I live and realtors typically expect 6% commission. Therefore a few hundred dollars on pro photos is a drop in the bucket if it sells the house.

Exactly, it's a relatively small price to pay for the commision that comes in.
Plus with good pictures, or even just more detailed pictures, I would imagine your interest in the property goes up too. The better the house looks the more people browsing the site are going to want to see the listing.
I sent out multiples emails the other day to get a feel for people interested and have already begun to get feedback, so I will keep everyone posted with new developments.
/fingers crossed.

In Florida, not sure about states, there is a company that takes professional photos along with a virtual tour for $50-$200. The images are very high res, lighting is terrific and so forth.. it's very hard for actual photographers to compete

So I've been looking into this pretty in depth lately and just wanted to share this e-book/article I found on it. This article was invaluable to me, I've been doing photography for a couple years but it provided many tips, tricks and knowledge relating specifically to property photography. IMO a must read for anyone wanting to do this. I know I will be.
