Default 10 Acres in Sumpter, SC

My brother and I have been left 4 acres of land in Sumpter, South Carolina, and we have been given the opportunity to make it a total of 10 acres through our cousin who said we can just take over the taxes on his 6 acres. We haven't seen what the property looks like but I would like to know what would be the best thing to do with 10 acres if it is usable land.

put cows on it and pay lower taxes.

    or

sell it and buy something that cash flows.

Could lease it out for the timber / swamp or what ever resources are on it.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.

The taxes are dirt now I don't think I can get any lower than what it is now. I do like the leasing idea, even though I have never been down there.

It's Sumter with no "p", and they used to call it the trailer park capital of the world. Something about there being more mobile homes per capita than anywhere else in the country. Sumter is about 45 minutes east of Columbia with Shaw Air Force Base (F-16's) being the biggest thing around there. Wonder how it's zoned? What's there now? Vacant land is a terrible investment unless you can produce income from it, or you absolutely know it will become more desirable in the future and go up in value.

We haven't invested anything as of yet, and nothing is on the land as far as I know. The taxes we are paying is worth it because its so low, so holding on to it won't be a bank breaker at all.
