Urban Land Institute
Is anyone a member or has attended any of their events? What did you think? I'm always on the hunt for new organizations/educational resources related to Real Estate Investment and it's been frustrating. I've been running into the " 3,000 dollar bootcamp " crowd lately. I've had moderate success hanging out at auctions and networking, but it would be cool to exchange ideas with " real " investors and start making inroads into the " network" This organization was mentioned and the site looks good, but I dunno. Any thoughts appreciated!

My advice is go to real estate investment club meetings in your area and do your best to find a mentor that is actually practicing real estate investing. I have never been a fan of "programs" or anything that asks for money so that you can learn. There are plenty of free resources everywhere and in my opinion a mentor is the best way to get started. I am no veteran, but i do know this. Unfortunately the market is sour so be extra careful.
