Thanks for that, i've been meaning to install some panels on a couple of my rental properties to make them more attractive. I have one question though. Do the panels destroy the existing roofing at all? I ask because some people tell me they have to uninstall some roofing and others say they just simply installed them over the existing roofing.

They should install over existing roofing, however if you were to take them off you would have to repair your roof as they get bolted through to the framing for strength. It's a great idea to put them on your rental properties for the fact that it's green and helps reduce your draw from the grid. However I questions how much financial benefit you will see by adding them to your rental.

Put a 12Kw system on my house and my bill is almost nil. Worth every penny.

Yeah I calculated 6-7 years ROI on these. I have one property that i need to re-roof anyway just to try it out. Thanks for the information.

Edit: My main concern at this point is thieves. I don't know how secure they are to the roof and how easy/quickly someone could just jump up on the roof and snatch them up. I'm just going to find a local company and do a tour for the rest of my questions. Thanks again.

It would be quite a difficult task to steal once installed.

The only potential problem I see with a rental property and ROI is if the tenant pays the electric bill, which they usually do.
